Stories from the Field: Field & Main Insurance

Field & Main Insurance works to build community by offering modern craft solutions for our clients. Recently, Field & Main Insurance President, Whitney Floyd, sat down with Field & Main Chairman & CEO, Scott Davis, to discuss what they’re doing to better serve the community and our clients.

Scott Davis, Chairman and CEO, Field & Main Bank:

Good afternoon, Whitney. Thanks for coming and sharing a few of your thoughts about Field & Main Insurance. So, tell us about your role with Field & Main Insurance.

Whitney Floyd, President, Field & Main Insurance:

Sure. Well, thanks Scott, for having me, I’m glad to sit down and have a chat with you. So, my role is fairly new. I’m now the President of Field & Main Insurance. So, I oversee the operations of the insurance department. That includes the benefits side, which is your health, your life, and the P&C side, which is the home auto and business insurance. And I get to work with a great team.

Scott Davis, Chairman and CEO, Field & Main Bank:

So, what can you tell us about how Field & Main Insurance helps build community through the work that we’re doing for our [insurance clients]?

Whitney Floyd, President, Field & Main Insurance:

We help build community by listening to our clients and providing somewhat of a consultative counselor, business counselor mentality, and applying that to their insurance needs.

Scott Davis, Chairman and CEO, Field & Main Bank:

Field & Main touts as our tagline, Modern Craft Solutions, Modern Craft Banking, Modern Craft Insurance. So how is it that you craft solutions for your [insurance clients]

Whitney Floyd, President, Field & Main Insurance:

We’re what’s called an independent insurance agent, so we have the ability to reach many different companies. In our consultative process with our client, we can find out what their needs are and go to those resources that best fit them. So, it’s not all in one box. We can actually craft the correct policy to cover their needs.

Scott Davis, Chairman and CEO, Field & Main Bank:

So, for a commercial customer, you might have their P&C through one company and might have benefits through another may have their liability and workers’ comp through yet others.

Whitney Floyd, President, Field & Main Insurance:

That’s correct. We can have multiple companies for one client. And if we see that is the best fit for that client, that’s what we do. And in other cases, it’s best to have everything with one company, but we have many companies to choose from to make sure that we find the correct coverage.

Scott Davis, Chairman and CEO, Field & Main Bank:

So, you really are crafting a solution, not just taking something that’s been handed to you by a carrier to say “here, sell this to an [insurance client]. “

Whitney Floyd, President, Field & Main Insurance:

That’s correct.

Scott Davis, Chairman and CEO, Field & Main Bank:

Well, thanks Whitney for coming over to chat with me this afternoon about Field & Main. I’m so proud of you in the role that you have assumed as President of Field & Main Insurance.

Whitney Floyd, President, Field & Main Insurance:

Well, thank you, Scott. I’ve enjoyed our conversation today.

Scott Davis, Chairman and CEO, Field & Main Bank:

Me too.

Our insurance team works diligently to provide modern craft solutions for our clients. You are first a friend and neighbor, then a customer.
